No More Worries About Driving Licenses! Smart License Cards by Postal Delivery

BRTA has taken the initiative to launch a new service as a step to simplify and expedite the driving license issuance process. This means that from now on, this service will be available without any hassle.

The notification states that instead of two separate applications for a learner driving license and a smart card driving license, a single online-based combined form will be launched on the BRTA Service Portal (BSP) from November 16, 2022 (Wednesday). In this case, the applicant will only need to visit the examination center once for the test and bio-enrollment, instead of 3-4 times.

It further states that through this system, applicants can receive online verification-based QR code-enabled learner licenses, pay fees, know exam results, submit system-generated smart card applications, receive QR code-based system-generated temporary driving permits or acknowledgment slips, and check the status at each stage of application or card preparation, all from home online. Additionally, they can receive smart cards via postal mail.

How to get BRTA License via Postal Mail

1. To register online, one must visit BRTA's official website - https://bsp.brta.gov.bd/ and create a user ID by providing the national identity card number and date of birth.
2. After filling out the specific form and receiving an SMS, one must visit the BRTA examination center for bio-enrollment and to participate in the test.
3. At this stage, the applicant can receive an online verification-based QR code-enabled learner driving license.
4. In the next step, after passing the exam, one can pay fees online and, by logging into the system, verify all information and documents, and then submit them.
5. Subsequently, exam results will be published online, and then the applicant can receive a QR code-based system-generated temporary driving permit or Acknowledgment Slip for operating motor vehicles.
6. If all information is correct, the smart card license will be delivered to the applicant's address via postal mail.
