Suzuki Bike Prices Have Increased

Suzuki is a Japanese multinational corporation that manufactures automobiles, four-wheeled vehicles, motorcycles, combustion engines, etc. Suzuki has over 45,000 employees, 35 production plants in 23 countries, and 133 distributors in 192 countries. In 2014, Suzuki was the ninth-largest automaker globally in terms of production. The Japanese company Suzuki has been doing business in Bangladesh for many years. This brand is also a symbol of trust in Bangladesh's bike or motorcycle sector. Although not all Suzuki bike models are available in Bangladesh, a significant number of its models are available in the local market. It is well-known in Bangladesh and worldwide for its durability, attractive design, and modern features.

Suzuki is performing exceptionally well in the sports motorcycle segment in Bangladesh. The company has targeted young, fashionable bikers on the roads. And gradually, they are emerging as a successful motorcycle company here in Bangladesh. The Suzuki Gixxer series is very trendy among young bikers in Bangladesh. Suzuki also offers bikes with modern features like the Suzuki Intruder 150 (ABS), which includes the modern and safe ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) within a limited price range. Additionally, the Suzuki Hayate model is the best-selling entry-level bike in Bangladesh.

Suzuki has signed a joint venture agreement with Rancon Motorbikes Ltd (RMBL), a local company in Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, Rancon Motorbikes Ltd. operates the manufacturing business in a joint venture with the Japanese motorcycle company Suzuki. Suzuki bike assembly work is typically carried out by Rancon Motorbikes Ltd. in Bangladesh.

Situation in Bangladesh -

Motorcycles hold significant importance in Bangladesh's transportation system. In contemporary circumstances, motorcycles are among the most commercially successful products in the country's current market. During the COVID-19 pandemic, motorcycles played a supportive role in maintaining social distancing and adhering to various restrictions. Due to vehicle shortages and unfriendly passenger services, many people are using motorcycles. Moreover, during the pandemic, when common people started looking for alternatives to public transport, motorcycles topped the demand.

However, after the 2022 budget, the prices of all types of motorcycles are increasing. And the same has happened for Suzuki. They have shown some logical reasons behind this price increase. Firstly, the current inflation situation has led to an economic crisis. As a result, the domestic market is currently experiencing an imbalanced situation in almost all sectors. Due to the depreciation of the Taka against the dollar, an additional amount has to be paid for any import-dependent product.

Many might wonder about its impact on the market. Statistics show that motorcycle usage has tripled in the last 5 years. People's purchasing power has also increased. However, due to inflation, the prices of everything have increased, and the purchasing power of common people has somewhat decreased. The economy is going through a somewhat bad time. On the other hand, bike prices are also increasing, which will, to some extent, hinder customers from buying bikes.

Furthermore, the prices of Suzuki bikes or motorcycles in Bangladesh are relatively higher. Due to the motorcycle engine CC limit factor, not all Suzuki bike or motorcycle models are available here in Bangladesh.
