TVS Metro Riding Review – Best Option for Ride-Sharing

Hello, I am Riku Khondoker. I have been riding the TVS Metro bike on the streets of Dhaka for about 1.5 years. After riding more than 11,000 kilometers, I want to present my own TVS Metro review for regular urban bikers and ride-sharing brothers. Before Dhaka, I gained some experience riding the TVS Metro bike in my hometown Sylhet. My TVS Metro review today is written based on the mixed and different experiences of riding in these two places. Among young riders from middle-class families in Bangladesh like me, the TVS Metro 100cc bike is a very popular model. The biggest reason behind this is the bike's affordable price and good mileage. During the Corona period, the TVS Metro price was significantly reduced, and a huge offer of BDT 10,000 discount was given. That's when I bought this bike with some savings and family support. Currently, the TVS Metro price in Bangladesh is about BDT 98,000. But by the immense grace of Allah and getting a huge discount during Corona, I was able to buy my TVS Metro bike for only BDT 84,000. All in all, I have ridden the bike for more than 2 years. Out of this, I rode for 7.5 months in Sylhet and about 1.5 years in Dhaka, engaged in the ride-sharing profession. If someone wants to do ride-sharing professionally on urban roads today, I would say that the TVS Metro motorcycle is one of the best options for them. Today I will mention some good aspects of the bike as reasons. At the same time, I will also mention the problems I encountered while riding the bike in today's TVS Metro review.

100cc TVS Metro Review - Why the Bike is Good for Ride-Sharing

Best in terms of price: TVS Metro 100. My acquaintances and I, many ride-sharing brothers, got the TVS Metro at such a low price during the Corona period, which is truly rare in this country. However, even without special discounts, the bike's current price is very affordable, especially for those who want to do ride-sharing professionally. For those who come from middle-class families like me, both the TVS Metro price and quality are reassuring. You will rarely find such a beautiful and ideally designed bike in the market for less than BDT 1 lakh.

TVS Metro mileage is favorable for the ride-sharing profession. While riding this bike on open, jam-free roads, I got about 65 kilometers per liter. And under normal conditions, I easily get at least 50 to 57 kilometers per liter. I wouldn't say this is the best mileage for a 100cc bike in Bangladesh. But considering the skyrocketing fuel prices currently, the TVS Metro mileage per liter is quite satisfactory. For those who do regular ride-sharing like me, this mileage is sufficient for the streets of Dhaka. The cost behind income also remains largely under control. Therefore, this aspect of mileage will be quite high in my TVS Metro review.

TVS Metro Motorcycle Seat. In my opinion, another major reason this bike is good for ride-sharing is its comfortable and wide seat design. As a regular rider, even after riding the TVS Metro all day on the streets of Dhaka, it doesn't make me tired. This is because the seat and handlebar positions of this bike are quite comfortable. An even better aspect is the TVS Metro's pillion seat. This seat is also quite wide and comfortable, so passengers remain at ease even after sitting for a long time. Additionally, the TVS Metro's pillion seat has good grab rings. Thus, passengers can ride the motorcycle comfortably and safely, and at the end of the day, I get very good reviews for my TVS Metro.

TVS Metro Motorcycle Handle and Control. Another great aspect of the TVS Metro 100cc bike is its extremely light, comfortable design and smooth handlebar. The weight of this bike is quite less compared to most bikes in the country, so turning it as per convenience and the ease of riding are incomparable. A brother I know, after riding his heavy 150cc bike, when he first rode my bike for a TVS Metro review, I repeatedly heard praise from him about the motorcycle's smooth control and wonderfully light weight. The handlebar of this bike is also quite excellent. I easily move it left and right within traffic jams and ride the bike comfortably. Such a light motorcycle with smooth control on the streets of Dhaka is truly a great gift from TVS. My passengers always feel comfortable on my ride and praise me for reaching their destination on time. But I will give full credit for this to the well-thought-out design and control of the TVS Metro 100.

TVS Metro Review - Some More Good Aspects of the 100cc Bike

TVS Metro Review - Outlook and Design. The TVS Metro has given us an extraordinary design and outlook compared to its price. For those who cannot afford expensive bikes with stylish looks, the design and outlook of this motorcycle are undoubtedly great. I bought the beautiful TVS Metro in black-red color. Additionally, the bike is available in attractive color options like black-green, red, and blue in the market. In terms of design, almost all features of the bike are excellent. Its light and slender build, smooth handlebar, large tank, wide and comfortable seat, comfortable and safe seating arrangement for pillions—all these make the bike one of the best commuters, meaning a ride-sharing bike. So, as a TVS Metro review, I want to give its design quite good marks.

TVS Metro 100cc Resale Value. As this bike's design and features are suitable for ride-sharing, even years after its release, the TVS Metro price in Bangladesh remains quite affordable, and the demand is very high. Any new brother entering the ride-sharing profession places this bike high on their preference list. As a result, this bike's resale value, meaning its price when sold again, is quite good. When many people consider changing their bike after gaining some financial ability, they can easily sell the TVS Metro at a good price due to its affordable price. And for new riders, the bike becomes even more economical and acceptable.

TVS Metro Review - Performance. There is nothing new to say about the good performance of the TVS Metro bike. With its ease of control, good mileage, and comfortable ride, the TVS Metro is an outstanding motorcycle with great performance relative to its price.

TVS Metro Review - Problems I Found with the Bike

TVS Metro Vibration. This problem is observed in most TVS motorcycles on the market. When achieving maximum speed and mileage, most bikes from the TVS company experience a kind of shaking or vibration. The TVS Metro bike is no exception. All the brothers I know who have ridden affordable TVS bikes joke that perhaps this vibration has become a trademark of TVS bikes. It's hard to believe today that you're riding a TVS bike if it doesn't vibrate. Furthermore, during this vibration, objectionable noises come from the body of the TVS Metro bike, which can easily worry a new biker.

TVS Metro Review - Tire Structure and Type. I have considerable objections regarding the tires of the TVS Metro 100cc bike. To be honest, there are quite a few complaints about the tires of most TVS bikes in our country. Firstly, my bike came with tube tires, whereas almost all 100cc bikes from competitor companies are equipped with tubeless tires. I later modified the bike to address this issue. Secondly, these tires are made of quite hard and inelastic material. The road conditions in Bangladesh are not uniform everywhere; some places are broken, some are waterlogged, some lack asphalt and only have gravel or brick roads. TVS tires of this kind are not at all suitable for such roads. The grip of these tires is not very good, so they slip easily when sudden brakes are applied. I have been relieved of this problem after modification. But TVS Company has been successfully doing business in this country for a long time, so we can certainly hope that they will try to understand and solve this tire problem.

TVS Metro Review - AC Headlight. I also found the AC headlight of the TVS Metro 100 bike problematic. For those who don't know, an AC headlight is a light that reduces or increases its brightness depending on your throttle rotation, i.e., the bike's speed. This can never be ideal for a commuter bike, especially when riding in road conditions like Bangladesh. It is not possible to ride continuously at the same speed or throttle response for a long time in this country. In traffic jams, one has to constantly reduce and increase speed. Moreover, when riding on broken roads or in the rain, when headlight illumination is most needed, it is also crucial to reduce and increase speed cautiously. However, with an AC headlight, if you reduce the throttle pressure, the light will also dim, which is very risky. Furthermore, this headlight is a halogen light, which is an even more objectionable matter. We expect more thoughtful bike design and practical application of features from TVS Company. I changed the headlight of my TVS Metro bike immediately after riding it on the roads of Sylhet.

TVS Metro 100 Review - Can it be used for tours?

I have done long tours of up to 1000 kilometers on this bike. I have visited various districts of the country. Despite being only a 100cc bike, due to the TVS Metro's high mileage and good seat position, I didn't face much trouble doing long tours. Although bikes with higher capacity are better for long tours, I still want to mention in the TVS Metro review that long tours are possible with this bike as well.

Conclusion

Finally, I want to say that the TVS Metro is a very good bike for its price. Its control and design are quite comfortable, and the bike has given me a good opportunity to progress in the ride-sharing profession. With its very satisfactory mileage, the TVS Metro remains one of the preferred models for many riders like me, even today, for less than BDT 1 lakh.
