Anuj Mishra’s Review of the Royal Enfield Classic 350: Pros and Cons

Since September 2021, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 has been with me. My regular readers know how much I love this bike and how joyfully I ride it. I use it not only for daily commuting but have also gone on a few long rides with a pillion. Although I’ve written about this bike many times before, this time I’ll highlight the things I liked most and the areas that could have been better.
Advantages of Riding the Royal Enfield Classic 350
Visual Appeal
The vintage styling of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 has boosted its sales for years. The new model continues the charm with attractive design elements—round headlamp, round mirrors, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, triangular seat panel, two broad cushioned seats, and a beautifully styled exhaust. Its color variants look even more appealing with chrome touches.
Smooth Engine
Unlike before, the mirrors of the Classic 350 no longer vibrate. Its new 350cc engine platform delivers smooth performance even at 100 km/h or above, making highway rides a wonderful experience. The gearbox is also very responsive during shifting.
Handling
In the new version, weight distribution has been reworked—particularly with a 2% increase at the front. With a 46% front and 54% rear distribution, the bike now feels more balanced. This makes it unique in terms of easy and confident handling.
Disadvantages of Riding the Royal Enfield Classic 350
Heavy Weight
Although the 195 kg bike is generally easy to control, you may struggle while parking or riding at low speeds. And if it accidentally tips over, you’ll likely need another person’s help to lift it. The foot peg placement can also cause discomfort in your feet and toes.
Stiff Ride Quality
The ride quality could have been better. On narrow roads, it performs well, but during uphill rides you may feel slight back discomfort. The seat also wasn’t my favorite. Since the foam isn’t thick enough, you may start feeling back pain in less than two hours.
If you often go on tours, you can choose a seat from Royal Enfield’s official accessories catalog. Still, when it comes to handling, ride quality, and comfort, this bike is hard to beat. Finally, I’d say the clutch could have been a bit smoother, and the front disc brake slightly more powerful.
Verdict
Aside from a few minor issues, this bike is a big improvement over its predecessors. It carries forward Royal Enfield’s legacy with pride. Its retro design, attractive looks, and engine performance make it an excellent choice. If you’re looking for a reliable bike for daily commuting as well as tours, this could be the ideal option for you.
