TVS iQube Electric Scooter Now Available in Bangladesh

The updated version of the TVS iQube electric scooter has been launched this year. This new variant comes with new colors, features, and an extended range. The 2022 iQube is now available in two variants: a Standard and an iQube S. The S variant offers a comparatively larger console with more features, plus color options. The Standard variant might have fewer features, yet its performance is improved due to a larger battery pack.

Now, the base variant has arrived with a new range, suitable for comfortable daily commutes. Since this scooter is electric, it is expected to deliver better performance than petrol-powered scooters.

Design and Features

The TVS iQube is a great scooter with beautiful design and elegant styling. Although the design is conventional and lacks the aggressive look of other scooters, it is still attractive. This well-integrated, clean, and overall stylish scooter is bound to catch your eye. Upon closer inspection, you'll notice its excellent build quality and impeccable finishing. The front and rear lights are sufficiently modern. Above all, the scooter's design prioritizes rider safety.

It features LED lights. Additionally, you get LED position lamps, twin headlights, LED turn indicators, and an LED tail lamp beautifully designed into the rear bodywork. The 5-inch long instrument console remains the same in the Standard variant, offering more features. It also includes smartphone connectivity options via TVS Motor Company's SmartXonnect system. With the dedicated mobile app, you can access turn-by-turn navigation, geofencing, ride analytics, incoming call alerts, side stand indication, battery level and low battery indication, fuel level, park assist, and reverse assist.

The Standard iQube is available in three colors: Pearl White, Shining Red, and Titanium Grey. On the other hand, for those who prefer a youthful and stylish design, the S variant offers three different color scooters: Mint Blue, Lucid Yellow, and Copper Bronze Glossy.

The upcoming top-spec ST variant is expected to be available in four more different colors, with at least two having a matte finish. Considering its build quality and finishing, it's hard to find a better electric scooter. While its design might not be as appealing to youngsters, there are quite a few buyers who prefer this type of scooter. Especially for working women, this scooter can be an everyday companion.

Battery and Range

The iQube features an extended capacity 3.04kWh, 52V, IP67-rated lithium-ion battery. This scooter is capable of traveling up to 100 kilometers in Economy mode and 75 kilometers in Power mode. The battery pack, battery management system, and controller were developed by TVS's in-house team. The iQube will take 4.5 hours to charge from 0-80 percent. A 650 W charger will be required for charging.

Its advanced variant is expected to have even more features. For example, the top-spec iQube ST variant, which will be launched, will be able to travel up to 140 kilometers on a single charge. The iQube ST will take only 2.5 hours to charge with a 950 W charger.

To provide a smooth riding experience, the iQube uses an IP67-rated battery. Its internal architecture is also designed to prevent any problems in case of a short circuit or high/low voltage.

Performance

For your daily commute, a scooter as excellent as the iQube is rare. Its engine has a maximum power of 4.4 kW, and it takes only 4.2 seconds to go from 0-40 kmph. While it might not accelerate in the blink of an eye, this scooter will be able to pick up speed better than other vehicles on congested roads.

Although this scooter is capable of reaching a maximum speed of 78 kmph, during test rides, its speed was observed to reach 83 kmph. With Power mode, an average speed of 79 kmph can easily be achieved. You might get even higher speeds when riding this scooter on open roads outside the city. Overall, for daily commuting on urban roads, the iQube is capable of delivering good performance as per demand.

Ride and Control

The most remarkable thing about the iQube is that it is very easy to control and comfortable to ride. It features a spacious footboard, a wide and comfortable seat, and excellent suspension, allowing you to ride this scooter smoothly on any type of road. It has 12-inch wheels, telescopic front forks, a 220mm front disc brake, and twin rear shocks. The ride quality is excellent. When it comes to comfort, the iQube will not disappoint you.

Even on bad roads, its ride quality will not disappoint you. There will be no annoying sounds from the body panels while riding. Furthermore, its tire grip capability is excellent.

Variants and Price

In Bangladesh, the price of the iQube Standard Variant is set at 1,15,000 BDT (excluding charger). For 10,000 BDT more, you get the iQube S variant with more color options and additional features along with a 7-inch instrument console. The next version to be released, the iQube ST, will offer a range of around 140 km.

Final Assessment

The TVS iQube is undoubtedly a scooter that leaves a lasting impression. During test rides, we achieved the expected range. The power available in both Eco and Power modes is sufficient for daily commuting. On a single full charge, we were able to easily travel approximately 60 kilometers in the city in one day without any fast charging network. Even after a full day's ride, the scooter still had the capacity to travel another 32 kilometers.

If you are looking for an electric scooter, you probably won't find a better one than the iQube. We believe that if a list of the top 5 electric bikes were made, this scooter would easily secure its place.
