First Locally Made E-Bike Ready to Hit the Roads
Walton's eco-friendly e-bike has received BRTA approval for use on our country's roads, just like other fuel-powered bikes. This series of Walton bikes will be registered for two to ten years. Liaquat Ali, Deputy Managing Director of Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited, confirmed to the national media that the company is marketing e-bikes under the Takyon brand with the Walton logo in the domestic market. The bike can be purchased from Walton Digi-Online Tech's online platform, in addition to Walton showrooms. The eco-friendly e-bike is currently available for 127,750 Taka.
Why is the demand for e-bikes increasing in the domestic market?
Due to the sudden increase in fuel prices and the ongoing global economic recession, most vehicle owners are now considering using e-bikes as a cheaper mode of transport. Therefore, e-bikes can now emerge as a source of relief for people. Let's see why you should buy an e-bike -
- Electric motorcycles might cost 10-15 paisa per kilometer for electricity, whereas petrol/octane-powered bikes cost an average of 2 Taka or more per kilometer.
- An e-bike will be able to travel approximately 70 km after a single charge.
- Unlike other bikes, e-bikes do not cause noise or environmental pollution.
- If parts or other equipment are available, people can use e-bikes without hassle.
- E-bikes can be easily charged from home, residential areas, or offices.
