Group motorcycle riding or group motorcycle travel is a common practice in the world, and day by day, it has increased in popularity in Bangladesh as well. Bangladesh is a small country with an abundance of natural beauty, and riders feel more comfortable in group riding here. So often, our riders go out on long trips with motorcycle groups of varying sizes.

Whether you ride long or not, as a bike rider, every rider should know how important group size is on long motorcycle trips. Let’s find out why group size matters and which type of group is more appropriate in some situations.

## Multiple day trips

Multi-day trips can be very difficult to manage in large groups, especially with an event management team. In this case, there is little problem if the group is small. It can be controlled very easily and safely.

## Food and accommodation

A small group of riders can progress to quality food and accommodation almost everywhere. On the other hand, large groups can get cost-reduction benefits due to bulk purchasing and bulk consumption.

## Travel safety

Small groups can be easily and safely managed on the road. However, in special cases, larger teams enjoy better security for team members, their luggage, and motorcycles.

## Speed of travel

In large groups, a huge amount of time is spent on various tasks, so there is a time management issue! Usually, time management seems quite easy in small groups.

## Adventure riding

Small groups often avoid going to unsafe places for safety reasons or take extreme precautions when it comes to adventure riding. Riders spontaneously participate in adventure riding when the group is large.

## Some advantages small and large groups

- Usually, with larger groups, the fun factor definitely increases. The more people, the more fun. Misunderstandings are usually less common in smaller groups.

- As everyone in the group shares new information about the motorcycle, riders learn many unknowns, which acts as a learning curve.

- We usually think that if there are more people, more support is available. But a small group, but close friends, may get whatever support they can.

## Some disadvantages of small and large groups

- Maybe small groups lack this opportunity to have more fun like large groups of bikers. Misunderstandings are common in large groups and almost inevitable, especially on long trips.

- Smaller groups have fewer riders, so the scope of learning is commonly reduced.

- Maybe getting bigger support is not possible in small groups mostly. However, the mental or emotional attachment might not be obtained from a big circle.

Group size is important on long motorcycle rides, so riders should ride in both small and large groups with their advantages and disadvantages for long motorcycle rides. Be aware and travel with an open mind.
