Motorcycles are one of the most popular means of transport in Bangladesh, and their demand is increasing every day. Many people look for second-hand motorcycles at a lower price. However, having legal ownership of any vehicle, including motorcycles, is very important. Nowadays, we often buy used motorcycles from others but make the mistake of not transferring ownership, which can lead to problems. It’s crucial to have ownership documents in your own name.

If a motorcycle is involved in an accident or a crime, both buyer and seller can face legal complications if ownership is not updated. Another issue is theft—without ownership documents in your name, you won’t be able to take any legal steps.

Therefore, after selling a motorcycle, transferring ownership documents is essential. Following the BRTA process makes ownership transfer quite straightforward. In this article, we’ll explain the motorcycle ownership transfer procedure, the required documents, and how you can complete the process step by step.
